Marinated T-Bone Steaks with Sautéed Onions & Mushrooms

Serves 2 |

2 tablespoon brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bottle beer
2 14 oz. t-bone steaks
2 teaspoons olive oil, for brushing steak
Salt, to taste
Black Pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon butter
1 Maui style sweet onion, sliced
1 cup mushrooms, quartered

  1. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, garlic and beer. Place steaks in a resealable plastic bag and add marinade. Place in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium heat.
  3. Remove steaks from the refrigerator and bag, set aside and let rest for 5-10 minutes. Remove steaks from plastic bag and dry steaks off with paper towels. Brush steaks with oil and season with salt and pepper. Place the steaks on the grill. Cook for 5 minutes per side for medium rare. Once cooked let steaks rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Bring a skillet to medium heat. Add butter, onions and mushrooms. Saute until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Top steaks with mushrooms and onions and enjoy!
