Spicy Slow Cooker Black Eyed Peas

Ingredients:
6 cups water |
1 cube chicken bouillon |
1 lb. black-eyed peas, rinsed |
1 onion, diced |
2 cloves garlic, diced |
1 red bell pepper, stemmed seeded and diced |
8 oz. ham, diced |
4 slices bacon |
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin |
Salt, to taste |
1 teaspoon black pepper |
Directions:
- Pour water into slow cooker. Add bouillon cube to water and stir to dissolve.
- Add black-eyed peas, onion, garlic, red bell pepper, ham, bacon, cayenne pepper, cumin, salt and pepper to slow cooker. Stir ingredients together.
- Place cover on slow cooker. Turn heat to low and cook for 6-8 hours (beans should be tender).
